Depending on the water pressure where you live, the filling process should take anywhere from two to three hours. But there are a couple of considerations for the day before you drain and the time period before you fill. 

How to Drain Your Hot Tub

The day before you drain your hot tub from Wellis, we would recommend using hot tub cleaner in the water and running your jet system at its highest setting for around half an hour to make sure the cleaner has the opportunity to reach every part of the circulation system. 

Draining and filling your luxury hot tub is an excellent time to clean every part of your spa, including the filters and skimmer baskets. 

When the next day comes, and it’s time to actually drain your tub, every Wellis Hot Tub has a drain valve to ensure the process is simple and easy. You don’t necessarily need a submersible pump to drain the water, but it would speed up the process and save you some time if you’re in a hurry. 

While your hot tub is draining, take the time to rinse down the sides of your hot tub to remove any residue and stuck-on debris. When most of the water is gone, you can use towels to soak up the remaining water in the seats and the bottom or a wet/dry vacuum is an excellent tool to speed up the process. 

How to Fill Your Hot Tub

When you’ve removed all of the water, you can go ahead and fill your hot tub. The best practice would be to remove your filter cartridges from your hot tub and place the water hose there to allow the water to fill up through the system.

Wellis offers a charcoal prefilter that attaches to your hose to remove contaminating materials and an additional water-softening prefilter that can help your water be more suitable for your luxury hot tub. 

Ensure that your hot tub water reaches the minimum water level line on your spa so that you don’t cause any damage to your Wellis Hot Tub system. Then you can begin testing the water to get the right chemical balance. 

Timeline Considerations to Drain and Fill a Hot Tub

You’ll want time for the system purge cleaner to work. You could drain the hot tub overnight.
